COMPANY HISTORY
TEC was formed in the summer of 1986 by the mechanical engineering talents of Ernest Landry and electrical engineer Timothy Dacey. Previously Mr. Landry had been General Manager and Chief Design Engineer, and Mr. Dacey handled Electrical Engineering, for New England Wire Machinery of Marlboro, MA. Kathleen Landry, who was at Borden Chemical for 13 years, assumed the duties of Office Manager. This team of three people are the primary owners of the company.
Erik Macs joined TEC as Sales and Marketing Manager in 1990. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he has worked in various phases of the plastics industry, mainly in materials and process R&D. Paul Dacey joined the company in 1991 and is now the Operations Manager. Bill Goode joined in 1998 and is the company's General Manager.
The first facility was the former Barker-Davis Machine Company, built in Leominster, Massachusetts in 1922 as a machine/welding shop for the then fledgling plastics firms in the area. TEC started designing and manufacturing a complete line of vertical and horizontal extruders for the general plastics industry. TEC then designed additional components for the Wire/Cable, Fiber Optics, Tubing, Pelletizing and Profile Extrusion markets. Also built were complete extrusion (primary and jacketing) and cabling lines (single and double twist cablers and neutralizers) for the Wire/Cable and Fiber Optics industries.
TEC purchased its current facility on Spruce Street, Leominster in 1991. Two additions since then have increased the facility to 45,000 square feet.
